Overview

This course is primarily for those who work within a health & social care setting caring for individuals with Diabetes. Delegates will learn about the causes of Diabetes and be able to understand the different types and why they happen, along with long term health problems. They will also learn the importance of lifestyle choices and help available and the effects that Diabetes can have on an individual.

Aims of this course

  • To provide the basic facts about diabetes and the way the body uses insulin
  • To answer the most commonly asked questions and to challenge the myths
  • To give staff basic knowledge about the different types of diabetes
  • To  help staff working with people who have diabetes to fully understand the condition and feel confident in dealing with it
